Car Seat Safety: Protecting Our Children on the Road

The good news? Proper use of car seats can reduce the risk of death by up to 71% in the event of a crash. That’s why understanding and following car seat safety guidelines is so important. Correct installation and usage can make all the difference in protecting your child.
Our Commitment to Car Seat Safety
As part of our Maternal & Child Health Program, our Certified Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians are dedicated to educating families and caregivers about proper car seat installation and use. We provide hands-on support and resources to keep your little ones safe.
Free Car Seat Inspections
Our agency is a recognized Child Passenger Safety Inspection Station through National Safe Kids. By appointment, you can bring your car seat to us for:
- Professional inspection and installation check
- Correction of improper installations
- Education for future safety
- Recall checks and guidance if your seat is affected
Car Seat Safety Classes
We also offer Car Seat Safety Classes by appointment throughout the year for $20.00. Each class includes:
- A free car seat for eligible primary caregivers (excluding infant seats)
- A short educational video
- Hands-on car seat installation training
Classes last about one hour and provide practical, life-saving knowledge.
Community Education
Want to spread awareness? We offer educational presentations on car seat safety for schools, organizations, and community groups. These sessions highlight the importance of proper installation and usage to prevent injuries and save lives.
