PHASE 1A: COVID-19 Vaccine Availability Plan

We are currently in Phase 1A of Missouri’s COVID-19 Vaccine Availability Plan.

Are you ready to get vaccinated? We know many of you are and we are working to make it happen. The choice to be vaccinated for COVID-19 is a personal one for yourself, your family and our community.

Pike County Health Department is currently in the planning stages for when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to the public.  We will keep everyone updated via our media outlets to ensure the community is informed of when and where they may receive the vaccine.

Right now, Missourians are qualifying for vaccination based on priority phases, as it is anticipated to be a limited initial supply. Those eligible first include patient-facing health care workers and staff and residents of long-term care facilities. As vaccine availability expands, the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services will strategically target vaccination efforts to those residents most at risk—our elderly and those with medical conditions which place them at higher risk. The timeline for these subsequent priority groups will be determined once future allotment information is provided by federal partners.

We do not have the vaccine yet and are not taking names for a list at this time. Please check back and watch media outlets for more information on how/when to receive the vaccine wants it becomes available. We do not anticipate receiving the vaccine until late February and will still be obligated to follow the distribution phases set forth by the state of Missouri.

We do not know when we will receive the vaccine yet, and are not taking names for a wait list. Appointments will eventually be available and we will be obligated to follow the Missouri Distribution Phases.

Are you lookin g for volunteers to administer the vaccines? I am a licensed LPN but no longer work in the field. I have given 1000’s of injecti0ns in my 20 years of work as a nurse. I work full time but would be willing to volunteer to give the Covid immunizations.

I live in Greeley and work in Milford.

Yes, as long as you are eligible for the current phase of state distribution at that time.

I have type two diabetes plus an auto immune disease. I talk to my doctor and she said to get in touch with the health department to put my name down for the vaccine. How do I go about that? Thanks.

While Pike County is still waiting for vaccines, are there any other Missouri counties in the 1a or 1b phase? Will the vaccines be restricted by county residents only? I am a 1b essential worker who travels interstate and would like to get the vaccine as soon as available for this group. Thank you.

Missouri has just activated phase 1b – tier 1. All counties should be following the Missouri Distribution phases. No, they will not be restricted to county residents but will be required to be a Missouri resident. We will ensure the community is well informed as to when we receive the vaccine and when appointments can be made.
