Pike County Health Department has a limited supply of free at home self-administer test available for any individual 2 years and older. Testing at home is not to be used in place of seeking medical care by your healthcare provider, urgent care, or emergency care. Positive tests taken at home should be reported to our agency.

We will be hosting On-Site COVID-19 testing events in our office parking throughout the year. Please stay up-to-date with us by following us on social media or signing up for our PCHD Newsletters.

NO WALK IN testing will be performed at this time- PLEASE DO NOT ENTER OUR BUILDING IF YOU ARE ILL. YOU MAY PARK AND CALL OUR OFFICE FOR A NURSE TO BRING YOU A TEST. In order for our Public Health Nurses to perform a test and provide you with documentation of your positive or negative test result, scheduled appointments will be required. NO WORK OR SCHOOL EXCUSES WILL BE PROVIDED, only proof of your results.

CONSULT YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER/URGENT CARE/EMERGENCY ROOM IF:

  • If you have moderate to severe illness (experience shortness of breath or have difficulty breathing, etc.)
  • If you are unsure if your symptoms are considered moderate to severe.
  • If COVID-19 symptoms recur or worsen.
  • If you are unsure when to end isolation.

PCHD PH nursing staff can perform limited testing to individuals in businesses/congregate settings in the community as part of an outbreak investigation, those that are underserved, or on an as needed basis for those who are symptomatic or exposed regardless of vaccine status.

Screening test may be performed for those who are asymptomatic with no known exposure to help prevent further transmission including but not limited to employees in a workplace setting or before/after travel.
